Minor stuff - minor changes

The plan for today was to cook for two days in advance and then do some more work on the baby book. Well, I did some very minor work on the baby book, namely gluing on the pocket and the photo mat behind it, but that was about it, basically. I managed to burn my hand with hot oil while frying some chicken breast strips, and while the injury is minor indeed - just some reddened patches which I treated on the spot with the salve kept for cooking incidents - I no longer felt like crafting any longer.

At least the dish - Mary Berry's chicken pasta bake once again, with leftover spinach added to the mix - turned out very yummy, and I won't have to cook tomorrow. Which is a good thing, as I'll have to wrestle with the bank over bureaucratic nonsense and go to the pharmacy and other such joyful chores, so I wouldn't be in the mood anyway.

I also planned to type up the couple of paragraphs I wrote yesterday, but I just can't bring up the energy. So I'll read a bit, play a bit of solitaire and then go to watch the GBBO - The Professionals with Mum.

Ouch ... hot fat hurts like woah ...

I had a lazy day today as well. Didn't even manage to write a letter ... but I'm not beating myself up over it.

Ouch! Burns with oil hurt a lot, I can tell a thing or two about it! There´s one salve they gave me in the clinic that really helps. I´d gladly send it to you, but it´s supposed to get put on the freshly burnt skin!

As I said, it's just a few spritzers, and I did hold my hand under the tap immediately and put some salve on it afterwards, so by now even the tenderness has almost vanished. But it was painful when it happened, for sure.

Uh oh, hot fat burns! Hope they’re not too painful! The only cooking I do is cooking for a few days at once. I cook when I have the energy and it’s not too hot, as I loathe cooking at the moment.

I don't like cooking very much — at least not regularly. Baking, that's different, that's delight, but cooking is simply another chore, which is why I'm collecting the easiest, fastest recipes I can find.

That said, I do like trying out different things, but regular cooking is not fun.

I hope your hand is feeling better by now and that the bank stuff goes well. I thank goodness that my local bank is only a fifteen minute bus ride away. Trying to get stuff done by phone or online is OK, but often gets confusing.

I prefer doing things in person, despite the current situation. Thankfully, it's a rare occasion, and anyway, I can reach the bank in five minutes when using the tram — but even in fifteen if I walk!

Well, the pockets that you glued needs to dry properly, so you can't do too much more there anyway!
