Today we had a visit from H. (Little Emma's grandmother; also my cousin's wife) whom we hadn't seen for two years. The young ones left for a wellness weekend, and she decided to drop by before they'd return with interesting new germs in their luggage. They had all gone through Covid already, and their antibodies are on a reasonably high level, so H. came over this afternoon, and we had a grand old time - with the necessary precautions.

It was good that I could finally deliver the birthday and baptism gifts from last year that had been lying in my study for months. And it was wonderful to see H. from face to face again. She's basically the only family member we keep regular contact with, and we've missed her something fierce.

Other than that all is well on our end of the connection, except that LJ seems awfully slow right now.

Meeting family and friends face to face is the best thing to do, I am sure I would go nuts if I didn´t have my meetingplaces that I go to and meet friends. Just going somewhere for a cup of coffe with a friend can be bliss.

That’s great! I’m going to be seeing a cousin I haven’t seen for a few years soon; I’m so pleased. She’s closer to my older siblings than to me, but I look forward to seeing her.

I still have my friend's Christmas present sitting on my living room floor, but there's no way I am visiting anyone at present.

Glad that you have finally been able to see family. Isn´t it a shame that after two years of pandemic few things have turned to the better side, but more things even got worse? I would not have dreamed in the beginning that we´d sit mostly at home, because the world outside has turned against us elders!

I am so glad, for both you and your mum, that you were able to have such a nice family visit.
