Advent, Day 12
Dec. 12th, 2021 08:31 pmSooo, I've baked the next 4 batches of biscuits. That about took half the day. These are the very fancy ones, with filling and icing and all that, so I'll have to finish them tomorrow. For today, I'm done in.
Mum and I decided to eat leftovers, after all - we had soup and boiled pasta from yesterday and I added some chopped ham and a couple of eggs to the latter; it was yummy. While eating, we watched Kirstie's Handmade Christmas; the thing has grown on us lately, perhaps because so very little that's going on in our home is truly Christmass-y.
Mum came up with the idea of having the Christmas tree in the living room instead of the balcony, since we have the artificial monstrosity now that doesn't needle (so much). I'm not keen on the idea, as we'll have to walk around the thing for at least a month, but Mum has made up her mind, and in some things it's easier to give in.
I've sent the photo of the most recent batch of biscuits around to the recipients. They were duly impressed. I'll insist on photos of their families admiring (and eating) the end results. I think I've earned that, haven't I?

Date: 2021-12-12 10:33 pm (UTC)All I've baked is one batch of 5 dozen cut-out cookies, which are undecorated and hiding in the freezer until Wednesday, when my granddaughter and I will decorate them:)
Rick is putting up the Christmas tree today. It's huge, it's artificial, and he's had to replace the star on top and all of the lights. Fortunately, we have oodles of spare lights, so the only thing he had to purchase was the star. He had to go to three stores before he found one, because everything's sold out.
Next year, we may get a new tree.
