Baking Frenzy, take two

I've baked another five sorts of cookies today - and was done with the whole thing by 1pm already! Yesterday's preparations certainly paid off. What's even better, only two of the five are the kind that will need decorating tomorrow... after which a pic will be posted.

Other than that, not much else was done today. We had the weekly visit by the physiotherapist, and I ceased to go to choir practice. I'll think about it again when I had my booster shot, but for the time being, the risks are just too high. 700 kids go to that school, two classes are in quarantine already, and I can't be sure just how thorough cleaning and desinfectioning is done. Better safe than sorry.

So sorry for you having to end choir practice, at least for some time. I always loved this time of the year, when we were practising foreign Christmas carols for concerts. Your baking frenzy is awesome. So many different sorts done already, while I was surfing the net, ending up with one dough for eight sorts of cookies....

I already miss going to choir practice, but I must be reasonable. Booster shot is next Tuesday, if nothing unexpected happens, and then we'll see how bad the situation at school is. I seriously doubt that we'll actually be able to have our annual Christmas concert. :(

My baking obsession is at least partially fuelled by the fact that this is the only Christmas-y thing I can do the same way as always. There are so few such things left. Of course, trying out new recipes is always great fun!

Oh man, yeah, definitely sit out choir practice until you got your booster shot. You have been so careful all along and sat out on so many things, would be a shame to get infected now in the later days of the pandemic.

Mom got her booster today, it all went well and she is feeling fine. Since the doctor she went to is downtown, we even ran some errands afterward.

Ja, ich bin auch froh! Und diesmal macht es ihr auch nichts aus. Nach den anderen beiden ging es ihr zwar nicht schlecht aber sie war schlapp.

I understand your reluctance regarding the choir. Not only is there the possibility of catching it from the school 'equipment', but each choir member comes with their own circle of potentially infected friends/family.

Exactly. It's still saddens me to lose my only connection to the outside world, though. I'm an extrovert, I need people around me! And since I'm a founding member of this choir, there are people I've been singing with for sixteen years!
