... because I'll be out of the house in the afternoon/early evening and probably too tired afterwards to go online. This will be probably the last time I participate in choir practice, since I'll have to go to school and fetch my eggs anyway. It's getting too risky with new cases skyrocketing like they never have before, and I have Mum to consider, too.

I've typed up and partially rewritten the second Christmas gift fic. That's two down, four more to go.

I also made a plan for the first round of baking, writing down how much of which ingredients I'll need to bake the first 5 sorts of cookies - probably during the weekend or on Monday. I'm looking forward to start the baking very much!

Other than that, we've got really nice weather today. It's such a difference to go out in sunshine than in rain.

That's such a shame about choir, but I completely understand where you're coming from. Our state border has been shut for a while now but it's opening next week (I think) and things will get messy then for us. The baking sounds excitingly like it's getting closer!

It is what keeps me going. Now that the craft projects have been done in wain (=no Christmas fair), and my mind is too numb for any quality writing, I need something to save what's left from my sanity.

Are the numbers bad in Hungary as well? We don't hear anything about your country here in the news ... well, not about Covid.
Here we have the highest numbers ever since the beginning of the pandemic ... just ... great ...

Unfortunately, it's the same here, too.

Take care! The delta variant of the plague has torn through two Australian states. Frightening. Although we’re out of lockdown, I’m still shopping from home. Today is the first time I will be going to the library in person, and that is only to return books that I had borrowed. They previously had a clever contactless way of borrowing books where you could ring the library as you were approaching and they would then place the books on a table outside the library door. I wish they would continue the contactless method but too many fools were violently protesting the lockdowns. Idiots. Won’t mask, won’t vaccinate, won’t isolate, don’t give a fuck about community health, and then clog up the hospital systems when they contract Covid. I hope your population is more sensible.

This covid thing is really beginning to get everyone down. We had a noticeable reduction in cases by about 5 days after the last day at school for the half-term break, And once they had been back for a whole week the numbers are starting to creep up again.

Getting out in the sunshine is very good for us, though.

Indeed. We've decided to go for the third jab, after all. It's too bad Mum didn't want it in September, when it would have been a lot easier to get — for us, I mean. But better late than... too late.

I had heard you were having trouble with Covid numbers. I hope you and Mum stay safe.

Sorry to hear the Covid numbers are up in Hungary. We are at a low period, but that is after being one of the highest in our nation not that long ago. Of course, now that numbers are down, the governor ended mandatory masking and people are allowed to gather in greater numbers. So eventually, the Covid cases will once again rise. Speaking of baking, my son's law study group is insisting he bake dulce de leche brownies (from scratch) this time. So, both he and I will try to bake for real tomorrow. I am doubtful of our success, especially since it took us countless tries to make plain brownies from a box. We plan to buy a box mix or two for backup since we are not confident in our abilities, heheh. The recipe even calls for a piping bag and tips — yeah, right. I've such experience using that (not!)

The mere idea of using a piping bag fills me with dread. *g*
