... in the form of frequent raining. Fortunately, it's not stormy rain, just persistent. Enough to get wet like a dog while going to Aldi and back. It isn't easy carrying two large shopping backs and holding an umbrella at the same time.

It also seems I should have been more patient. Pistachios have arrived at Aldi - and a great deal cheaper than in the Bioladen. I bought two satchels anyway (although even so, they were price-y); they'll keep in the freezer nicely until next year. Or until I decide to use them some time in-between. I also bought some Christmas stickers and a large chocolate Santa for Mum.

Today I volunteered for kitchen duty, making a large heap of Roesti and a big bowl of salad, so all we'll have to make tomorrow is soup. Then I was basically lazy for the rest of the day, watching Auf Streife on German TV, for the sake of keeping my vocabulary alive.

In the evening I got my lazy rear in gear and worked a bit on the "Pathways" timeline. I hope to finish the 1999-2000 time slot tomorrow or the day after.

And now soon is TV time again - The Great Australian Bake-off is on re-run, and since we never saw that one before, we're quite excited.

Didn't I tell you Aldi pistachios were on their way to Hungary? Hubby and I both love soup for lunch, especially in autumn with pumpkins and beetroots... Never found Australian Bake-off on TV. If I remember rightly- I did not find any other bake-off than the German one...

I should have listened to you — my bad. :)

We have here several TV channels singularly devoted to cooking and baking, like TV Paprika and TV2Chef — that's where we can watch the British and now Australian Bake-offs. Actually, they come on ViaSat3 and SonyMax sometimes, too. Which is a good thing, as there's very little that would be worth watching otherwise since Spike (not the vampire, the TV channel) was closed. They always had lots of re-runs of old sci-fi shows and films — I loved them!

I really never thought about freezing nuts. Does it work for all of them?

Yes. It prevents them getting runny or any bugs getting into them. You can take them out, get a bit warmed up at room temperature and use them as always. Unlike veggies, they won't get icy in the freezer, either.

You’ll be listening to all the accents like mine! Some people seem to like Australian accents, others hate them.

Sadly, I can barely hear the original sound. It is overspoken in Hungarian - the poor man's dubbing, I guess.

Oh, I thought it might be the original sound, with subtitles.

In Bridlington, rain rarely comes without wind. There's a reason it got christened, "Bright and Breezy Bridlington". It only took me a couple of months to realise that umbrella's are next to useless here, so I just bit the bullet and purchased a good waterproof jacket with hood. It doesn't look pretty, but it works better than a brolly.
