Today promised to be uneventful, so I thought I'd do some small tasks that needed to be done anyway.

First I made apple sauce (flavoured with my home-made ginger syrup) because it's needed to [livejournal.com profile] spikesgirl58's extra yummy double ginger cookies, which I intend to make this year again.

Then Mum and I went through some boxes, threw out a few items and selected others for gifts. Including a whole wooden box of eating utensils that Grandma has inherited from someone but we've never used and it's unlikely that we ever will. We agreed to give it to Evie for Christmas, as December 24 is also her birthday, and she has a big family and never enough spoons and forks and knives.

Then I made [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat's amazing ginger-carrot soup because we haven't had that one for too long.

Then I made vague attempts to rearrange some things in my craft cupboard... well, it didn't work, but I'll try a different attempt again.

Then I gave these pretty paper stars another try. My first attempt didn't end up too well because the paper I used was too thick and too hard. Now I recycled the sparkly silver wrapping paper in which Evie brought me her present yesterday. This time the star turned out better, but I still couldn't insert the sixth point. No idea why. It seems I have to accept that my stars will be five-pointed. Things can be really strange sometimes.

It isn't that complicated, really, once you've figured out the method. I used similar folding techniques while making stars from transparent paper.

Aha! Apparently today was a do
-superfluous-tasks day for you- doing things not urgent. Well, such days come upon me, too. Today for instance I felt the need of giving the doll's kitchen with all its kitchenware a good scrubbing...

You have a doll house? That must be fabulous!

Edit: Sorry, of course you have one! I haven't looked closely enough at your icon. Sorry.

Which icon? The one with the doll? This one had belonged to my grandmother, it came to me when mum died. Doll is not less than 60 centimetres tall, so a dollhouse for it would have to be huge!

No, I have mistaken your icon for meathiel's, and I was surprised that she'd have a doll house, that's all.

Lopsided ones, I'm afraid. Like everything else I make... *g*

Nothing wrong with a five point star. Sometimes you just have to roll with it.

But I want to make six-pointed ones! Why can't I make them, although I follow the video religiously?

Lol! Is it on youtube? It may be worth checking out the comments section. You may not be the first five point star maker.

Yet, it is on YouTube, but there aren't many comments and so far no-one has complained.
See it here. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaNShrxjii4&list=LL&index=19&t=47s)
