Especially as I promised several people Christmas cookies as a present. So I sat down and wrote down the possibilities. Currently I'm at 34 different sorts, but I'm not sure it's the end of it. Yeah, I'm insane, but you've already known that, haven't you?

I also started to write lists how much flour, sugar, margarine, eggs, various nuts and the likes I will need. I haven't reached the end yet, but I guess I'll have to make quite a few food runs to haul everything home, even if Lidl is at the next corner. So yeah, lots of work and expanses coming my way, but a) I love baking, b) this way I don't have to think about proper Christmas gifts and c) the gifts won't demand lots of storage space as they'll be eaten in record time, if previous experience is any indication.

Crafting-wise I made another popsicle angel today. This time I tried painting the sticks light blue and use sparkle to decorate the little fellow. No pic yet; I need to make a few more before taking a photo, as I'm running out of storage space on the iPad mini.

Oh, and I did some work on the "Pathways" timeline, reaching the end of the "Buffy" era. Now I'll fit together the last season of "Angel" and Season 6 of "Charmed", before I start inserting "Queer As Folk US" into the picture. It's a good thing that "Blood Ties" starts two years after everything else is over; and I don't work in "Criminal Minds" as "A Touch of the Wild" was a one-time story.

Whatever makes the feast comfortable and cozy for you. For me, it's a psychological necessity, but not everyone is as crazy as I am. 😉

Well, I love Christmas cookies but we all shouldn't really gain more weight so ...
If we don't have any, we can't eat them, right?

True. Which is why most of what I produce goes to 5 different families and 3 different neighbours. I like make the things, and then admire how beautiful they are, but while I like eating them as well, I have no problems with giving much of them away.

And I still might add a few more, if previous experience is any indication...

Nah, I actually love doing this! And half a dozen families will profit from it, so it's good.

Cookies are the best kind of Xmas present, because they do get eaten and much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing your newest angel!

I agree with you about cookies as Christmas presents. Five families (three of them with little children/grandchildren) will profit from my obsession with Christmas baking, so I think I can justify the financial ruin and all the labour. 😁

I am still awaiting the cookie recipes son number three is supposed to write down from his mother-in-law´s cooking book. Her cookies are fabulous, not complicated like the ones you often find in those funky magazines. Hers have a typical farming tradition- easy to do (most of them), laden with cinnamon and jam. Even I will be able to handle those recipes! But i was appalled when I saw this year´s prices for baking ingredients!

I know what you mean re: prices. Even the simplest kind of flour has become 25 per cent more expensive than even two months ago. Which is why I'll buy whatever I need as soon as I can, before the prices skyrocket even more.
