Even more computer joys

It seems that my computer problems are far from being over. Now the "infernal machine" (OT: Rupert Giles) decided to make frightening noises every time I switch it on. When I switch it off, then on again, the noises are gone, but I've been told this method isn't particularly healthy for the hardware.
Fortunately, my neighbour comes back from his holiday next week. I already have a 2-page problem list waiting for him. Hopefully, he'll kick the service guys' butt who did such a shitty job on my poor comp.

Many things are suddenly fine if you switch them off for 15 seconds, then turn them back on. Dunno why. Wish it worked with American politics...
