Somehow Tuesdays tend to be like that.

Today I went to buy my very last monthly ticket for public transportation. In 3 weeks' time I'll turn 65, which means I'll travel all over the country for free. Some consolation for getting old, feeble and full of little owies.

I also went to the pharmacy to fetch Mum's medicines. And since I was already in that place, I went to KIK, where I bought some little wooden ornaments for the popsickle project. And to the Auchan supermarket, in the hope that there were some food items we regularly buy on sale. Guess what? There were. So, I saved a nice little sum of money... and hauled a very large and heavy shopping bag home. Still, I'm content.

Then I finished the Sauerbraten that I had started yesterday, we had lunch and I finished one more mini-mitten before the physiotherapist would arrive. She then gave me a lift to school, where our choir practice takes place, since both her sons learn there and she had to pick them up anyway.

Choir practice was fun as always. For a while I tried to sing while wearing a mask, but after an hour or so it became too uncomfortable. Ah well, we were only 11 people (including our conductor and piano player) in a large classroom, with the windows open. I hope Sputnik can deal with that much. *fingers crossed*

True. Such things are too good to let them pass. And margarine keeps in the freezer amazingly long.

I love having free travel on public transport — I got in under the wire by 3 days before it was changed from 60 to 65 here a few years back. But I have avoided it for a while as I feel safer on my own in the car. I'm looking forward to getting back onto the buses though.

I can imagine that you feel safer in your own car. I do it, too, when someone gives me a lift, since I don't have a car... or a driving licence, for that matter. I've lived in a big city since the age of 9 and public transportation was always very good, so I didn't see the need. Besides, I'd be a threat behind the wheel. ;)

OOo I love sauerbraten. I haven't eaten it in years.

TBH, it's the cheating version of it that you can make within an hour and a half, but it still tastes very yummy.

I'd imagine singing with a mask on to be a bit hopeless, but the benefits of singing can be counted as a win! Not having to buy more tickets and getting free travel will be a small win too! Tickets add up after a while! I have two older ladies living upstairs from me and I don't know why they don't get out and about with their free travel since one of them just moans about not having a car and being at home. We are literally a short stroll to a number of bus stops.

Finding things you need on special is always a win too!

You get the pass without having to go somewhere every month?
Yay saving money!

Not the pass. I simply have to keep my ID on me and can travel for free with it.

Wow, free travel across the country! We can buy senior tickets here, which are only a tad cheaper than the regular ones. Besides, I have to wait two more years to be able to purchase one...
