It's incredible how much it can lift one's mood when natural light is once again allowed to come into the flat. Even on a day like today, when the skies were mostly clouded and it even rained from time to time. I was so depressed by the gloomy surroundigs, aka brown packing paper on all the windows, I could spontaneously break out in tears sometimes.

Blinder guys came today, thank God, and put the things back in their place. Well, actually not a single blind got back to its original place, despite the fact that I had marked them (with permanent marker, which I'll have to get rid of with nail polish remover at some future time), but since they are all the same size, it doesn't really matter. They're back and they seem to work better than before. I'll have to check them over and over in the next two days; blinder guys come to our neighbour on Monday, which would be an excellent chance to get any possible problems fixed.

I've done a little bit of crafting as well. Small sewing projects are good to soothe one's nerves when waiting for workmen. The little mittens with the snowflake pattern are all finished and I cut out the patterns for the next batch: little felt hearts. I also cut the ribbons for hanging to the right size and even made the first lolly stick snowflake with dark green starts on all ends and small, shiny craft stones in their middles. There'll be photos later when I've made more from both things. My storage space on the iPad mini has nearly reached its limit, so I'll have to take photos of more things at once.

I'm planning to do a bit of transcribing today, and then we'll watch re-runs of TGBBO with Mum - the best entertainment of the day.

I so hope that this year´s Christmas fairs and charities will take place! I do not want to envision another year being deprived of such events! Huzzah for getting back the blinds!

In theory, I agree with you. I always raised the most money in the entire school at the Christmas charity fair with my hand-made wares. On the other hand, if they cram everything and everyone in the school canteen again, with no air to breathe and not a single inch between sellers, buyers and observers, I might opt out this time.

Can't they turn it into an outdoor event?

That's what I hope for, although mid-December that would be a tad uncomfortable.

It is such a faff waiting around for workmen. It chops up the day and makes it hard to get anything meaty done. Thank goodness the palaver is over at last!

God, I hope so! This has gone on since mid-July and we were both worn out by the whole thing.

They are a blessing, as our flat has lots and lots of sunlight in the afternoon. We'd be cooking in our own juices without the blinds.

They rehung them for you? Now that, I approve of. I had visions of you standing on ladders, drill in one hand and blind in the other.

They did it for everyone. There are 200+ flats in our building, and you need special tools for drilling holes into solid concrete. Not to mention that we live on the second floor, and with my agoraphobia I wouldn't be able to climb onto a ladder and work on the outside of the window...

Good news indeed, I hope the blinds give you no problems and if they do that the problems are easily fixed.

Little mittens with snowflakes sound so cute and very wintery!
