I started it today, I have. Wanted to post it to LJ, but I've reached page 3 already, and I'm still only half finished the fandoms I'm interested it. So I'll post it to my own website, eventually.

The first part of it, that is. There will be three parts. Part 1 about the pairings I write or simply like and can totally buy. Part 2 about to pairings that I'd never write myself, nor do I really see the chemistry, but a good author could actually win me over. Part 3 about the pairings I absolutely, violently hate. Even if I happened to write them. Like Elrond/Legolas. That's one sin I'll never live down.

The categories would be:
I. Tolkien (as a category in itself)
II. Vampire and horror TV shows
like Angel, Buffy, Kindred: The Embraced, Poltergeist: The Legacy and the likes).
III. Science fiction TV shows (including Andromeda, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and so on).
IV. Others (like The Sentinel, Houston Knights and a few more)

The list would contain both same-gender and het pairings, including crossover pairings. Just to piss out those high and mighty "experts" who love to lecture us mere mortals about what could and what couldn't work.

Did I mention that I wrote the occasional Cameron/Spike and that it was hot? At least according to a gay penfriend of mine who's also a devoted Cameron fan (Brujah Primogen from Kindred: The Embraced, for those not interested in vampires, played by Titus Welliver).

Or I might post the 'shipper' list to the new Otherworlds board.

WOW...

I have ...ONE fandom and basically one...group. Elves. And Lorien elves are better yet. *feels boring* No...um...loyal is a better word, huh? *grin*

Actually, it just shows that you do have a life, while I don't. *g*

But that's okay. I never really wanted a life aside from my fantasy worlds, so I guess I'm on the right place of my twisted little minds.

And I haven't even talked about my original fiction yet...

No..no, I don't really have a life, I just spend it in one fandom rather than spreading it around! *grin*

Well, the truth is, practically all my interests hail from The Time Before the Internet(TM) - before I got my Net access, that is. Back in those ancient times, I haven't spent all my spare time online. I used to watch TV. *g*

Hmm, maybe I should do such a list myself...Thanks for the idea! *runs off to scribble, even if it ís only one fandom (HP does not really count with me). And I must confess I have done the lecturing myself, but I always put a *for me* after the reasons.
Re: Legolas/Elrond: I read that pairing in two cases: you and AC and yours was great, IMHO. :)

Thank you. :)
That was a trap I walked into in my naiveté as a novice LOTR writer. I'd happily undo it, but it's become such a constant in my corner of the Tolkienverse that everything would collapse if I took it away. *sighs*

I think it would be very interesting to read. 'Pairings' seem an odd thing in the fanfic world, with some authors clearly seeing only certain relationships and others apparently switching freely from one to the next.

I still like Legolas/Elrond, and can't regret that you wrote them together. It's a pairing that seems to produce a more consistently OK standard of fic than many others. At least, it does in the stuff I've read.
