So I went to the post office today and sent back the old mediabox to Vodafone, since they threatened to fine me, should I not do so within a narrow time margin. I wish I hadn't! Because an hour or so ago suddenly the flashy new box - the one that is connected to the unreliable internet - first told us that it had no available information to the running programmes, and then the entire telly went black. I mean, the telly itself is okay, the Orion logo appears, as well as the info to which... thingie it is connected, but other than that, the screen remains black, save for a number in the upper left corner, which is probably an error code.

I grabbed the phone and called Customer Service. In about 25 minutes I finally got someone to talk to, and I wasn't friendly. They promised to send a techie tomorrow between 12 and 16 hours - joy! Now my own satellite receiving has been killed by the insulation, Mum's entire programme got killed by... something or other. The only TV we could, theoretically, watch, is my analog telly, which has about six or eight channels, three of them sports, one the official channel where the government preaches to its underlings, and the rest, well, forgettable. Besides, my tiny little telly is not suited for Mum's poor eyesight, and I don't even have an armchair in my tiny bedroom in which she could sit.

I begged the goddamn Vodafone not to give us a new mediabox, since the old one could do anything we wanted from the telly, namely watching the currently running programmes. I begged them not to connect the mediabox to the frigging internet. I knew something like this was due to happen. But, of course, they know better what's good for us - fat chance!

Yeah, you bet I'm furious.
