Actually, it wasn't that bad, not really. Okay, we had laundry day as always, but other than that I mostly worked on my little oven mitts. What made the day a bit hectic was that one of the channels chose to run the 2020 season of TGBBO - the only one we haven't seen before. Which means we spent about 3 hours in front of the telly, starting at 8.45am, trying to squeeze as much housework into the commercial breaks as humanly possible - which is, TBH, not very much. Consequently, we were late for everything and opted to eat scrambled eggs for lunch because they took the least time to prepare. *g*

Mum then spent some time with doing the washing-up, while I emptied Louise the Older (the washing machine), hung up the clothes to dry and stitched away on my mitts like a woman obsessed. The usual madness in our house, now that the extra madness (=insulation) is more or less finished.

The weather has turned around again; while it was nice and warm in the early afternoon, it is decidedly cold right now, so I had to put on a few extra layers of clothing. This is the time when you're cooked alive during the day and freeze hard during the night, since heating won't start until October 15 - when, I'm sure, it will be nice and warm again. Fun, fun, fun.

In the UK, collective heating for a whole shared building is generally not a thing. Each household has it's independent heating system. I can't imagine what it's like to be at the whim of the building owners. I've had my central heating turned on several times during the past two weeks.

The funny thing is, we "are" the building owners... well, sort of. We own our flat, just like the other 200+ families and pay our share for the heating, cleaning, etc. of the commonly used parts of the building. But it is the heating company that decides when it's necessary to start the central heating.
