Yesterday my friend Evie hopped over; we wanted to cover the tall, slim side windows of the infamous balcony with self-adhesive wallpaper to keep the sun out, since I talked the insulation guys into removing the ugly and totally impractical "blinds" that were installed a few years ago in front of them. Well, we didn't come to it, since the physiotherapist happened to be here at the same time. But we had almost two hours to catch up, which was wonderful.

Evie brought green beans, tomatoes and grapes from her own garden and left with a framed piece of gobelin depicting a bouquet, which had been in the family for at least 50 years but never displayed. She is very happy with the thing, and we're very happy to being rid of it without having to throw it out. She also took some pots for potted plants we never used, either, so that is another good thing.

In the evening my cousin called; he's recovered from surgery nicely, which is also good news.

Today, I made the obligatory food run. Then, after lunch, Mum and I went down to the street for a nice walk. Then my friend/(ex-)collegaue Alex called and we chatted on the phone for about half an hour. Then my neighbour came over to ask if the internet is unreliable by me, too (we both have Vodafone as our provider), and we agreed that things were magnitudes better when UPC still provided the service. Last time I called them, now neighbour promised to do so. If we complain often enough, they might even do something about it...

In other news: choir is about to restart next Tuesday. I'm still of two minds about the whole thing. Right now, I think I might go to practice on Tuesdays, when it starts at 16.30 - a time when there are no more kiddies in the building, but will skip Thursdays because between 2pm and 3pm the school is usually still half full. We'll see how the distancing goes and all that, and I'll make my final decision after that. But I'd really, really like to go to choir again, even if only to half the practices. I miss it terribly.

I'm also making good progress with the child-sized oven mitts. One pair is almost done. All I need is to sew it around with blanket stitch to strengthen the edges. Yay!

My dad's choirs had a few in person practices already.
I'm not sure if I'm happy about that but he seems to be more careless.

Good that choir will start again! Here they will soon shut down all things that give us pleasure- again. So those vaccinations were all for nothing, we´ll never get tback the life we had before Corona!

If it were just me, I'd be less concerned. But I have Mum to consider, so... besser Vorsicht als Nachsicht.

Glad you had a good visit.

I am so happy that we're doing choir. I hope you can make it to at least some of the practices.

Oh God, so do I! I've missed singing so badly... and my choirmates, too. I'm willing to take some risks, but if it turns out crowded I'll have to pass, I'm afraid.

Blanket stitch is not one of my favourites. I always get the thread tangled around the needle somehow.

For some reason blanket stitch is the one I can do best. So I use it whenever I can; it's so practical for seams, and on small felt items it can be fairly decorative, too.

You sing too? Goodness me! Choir sounds like a lot of fun, but I completely understand your reluctance to be there when huge numbers of kids are there too. See how it pans out I guess and see how it looks. It may be that though kids are there they're not where you are.

I've been singing in choirs all my life, starting at school in 5th term and never really stopping. This particular choir has been around for 16 years and I'm a founding member; having stopped for a year because of the dratted virus was such a loss!

Glad you were able to meet with your friends and colleagues. That always brightens your day. Hope choir practice works out, too. I know how much you've missed it.
