Admittedly, not very professional-looking, but 100 per cent home-made and very, very yummy. My first and so far only attempt at the task, which turned out a true delight... even if a bit ugly. *g*

What they made on the GBBO didn't really have much to do with Dobos cake. Actually, the ones you can get in Hungary aren't the real ones anymore, either. They don't make it with the right kind of sponge.

Thank you, I love your cake. And I will eat the layers from the bottom up! Love the top one most! May I ask you if your recipe is idiot-proof? I´d love to do a Dobos cake, but you already know about my baking skills...

Well, I managed to get it right, so it isn't that complicated. There are a few little tricks that help, which I'll gladly share with you if you want the recipe. But generally, it's just finicky and takes a long time to bake the individual layers one by one. Especially if you have only one cake tin. *g* I took a book into the kitchen with me, and it usually took me two or three pages until a layer got baked.

I´d love to have the recipe! I can bake four layers at the same time, I think. What goes well with cookies might go well with the layers, too!
