Aka the first actual page. This has a double card for baby statistics that can fold outward. In the inside there's place to write down the birth facts (name, size, weight and so on) on the left and another place for the milestones (first smile, first feeding and the likes) on the right.

Page 1 with the flap closed:

And the flap when opened:

As you can see, I've put the single sheet of baby-themed scrapbook paper I bought last week to good use. It's a funny sheet; on the other side the pattern is the same, just in pink, for baby girls. This baby is supposed to be a boy, but since not even the ultrasound is infallible, I'm trying to keep the book more or less gender neutral, just in case. Consequently, the blue colour isn't quite this intense in RL; it's just my iPad mini that is enamoured in blues - unlike me.

Do you mean the spelling or the calligraphy? Because the latter isn't how we write on a normal day; I just use it for craft projects.

The spelling! All the z, y, c and umlauts ...

Well, you Germans have your sch, ch, ei and ie combinations, too... And umlauts.
Hungarian umlauts are very logical, actually; you can make easy difference between short vowels (with two dots) and long vowels (with strikes). *g*

It´s wise to not yet settle on the babe´s gender, because ultrasound is mostly right but not always . Our number five was supposed to be another boy, that´s why I went shopping for blue playsuits the last weeks of my pregnyncy, only to realize it was a girl instead...

I learned my lesson with Little Emma's cousin. She was supposed to be a boy for a while, and I even made a baby book for a boy, when it turned out that she was a girl, after all.

The cover is fantastic, and I admire your very neat handwriting. A book like this becomes such a family treasure!

Errr... this isn't actually my handwriting. It's just some crude calligraphy I use for my crafts. I'm pleased that you like it anyway as I'm never fully content with the way it looks.

If the ultrasound is wrong you could always nip in and add some pink embellishments. I do love the little image of the swaddled baby.

The fact that the baby is pink on the other side makes things much easier indeed. Especially as I've got more such babies on the sheet I bought.

So sweet. I love the corner embellishments, and the stars.
