... that can make you or break you.

I had to make a food run today. Just some basic stuff, as the fridge was half-empty again. Plus I needed to fill up our depleted ginger ale and mineral water supplies. We drink more than usual in this frigging heat.

I've got a very practical little plastic frame for a six-pack of 1,5l water bottles that I always take with me when I have to buy drinks. I'm beyond the age when I'd be able to haul home those six-packs in their original package, which is the reason why I only buy 4 each time and put them into my practical little frame. Guess what happened today? Lidl didn't have the 1,5l bottles, just the 2l ones. Which don't fit into the frame; they're too thick. So I had to drag them home in a shopping bag; only 2 of them, because I couldn't carry more.

Yes, I know it isn't the end of the world. It's still annoying when you can't use a practical little gizmo that would make your life easier.

Nah, I can't navigate those; always drag them over my foot.

I feel you... I tend to be annoyed by little things like that too! It doesn't last for days but still...

We don't buy mineral water, because we try to avoid plastic bottles. We could buy mineral water sold in glass bottles, but I had my share on broken glass with my children, so a soda stream is the solution to this problem. No mineral water, but good enough. Would a shopping trolley solve your problem?

I used to have one when I was much, much younger. After the umpteenth almost-broken toe I gave up on them.

As for the PET bottles, we crush them and put them into the selective recycling bin — and hope that the'd get, in fact, recycled.

Those bottles are heavy. I buy milk in 2ltr cartons and I can only haul one at a time from my local shop. I've taken to buying the filtered variety and getting it delivered with my groceries, because it will last for about two weeks.

That's getting old for you. *sigh*
A few years ago I could haul home a six-pack of 1,5l bottles in one hand and another 3 or 4 bottles in a bag in the other hand. But those times are over.

Is there a reason you prefer mineral water over tap?
