Timeout

I'll be out of town from Monday to Friday next week. Mum and I are going to Vienna, for our annual summer vacation. So, if I don't answer mails or comments in that time, it's not because I am inconsiderate - I simply won't be here. :)

I only mention this because I'm usually rather quick with answering, so...

Weather forecast promises more moderate weather for next week. I hope they're right. We've had 36°C this week, and I'm just about reaching my limit when it comes to heat tolerance. Not having to go to work is less fun when you are silently dying instead.

My students are made of asbestos, I think. Two girls visited me the day before yesterday. The asphalt was melting from the heat, but they decided to climb up the Castle Hill to Buda Castle to see some exhibition (at 10 a.m.), then they got over to visit me (at 2 p. m.) and after that they went to see the parents of one of them who were doing something in a church not exactly in the neighbourhood (at 4.30 p.m). I was fainting just from hearing of it. *g*

They are nice girls, though. We had a lot of fun together. But I still can't understand how they can be this heat-resistant.

And this daughter is feeling quite envious. Unfortunately, for me getting to London either means flying *shudders* or a 36-hour-long bus trip *shudders some more* None of which I'd like to do during high summer.
