I bought a box of really shitty ice-cream today. The things taste like water. Like boiled and cooled down water. *shudders* But they have the straight popsickles that I wanted for my new craft project. Of course, 11 such little things aren't a lot, so we might eat our way through a great deal more shitty ice-cream in the future. *sigh* At least it is cold.

Other than that, not much happening here. It's a break in the footie, so not even passing out in front of the telly is an option. [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo starts tomorrow, but my brain is cooked solid in this heat, so I don't know how much writing I'll get done during this session. Too bad; it would be nice to make at least some progress.

We had Topfenknödel again today... with the strawberry syrup my friend Evie made and gave me as a gift. They were yummy together, even though boiling water for the dumplings in this heat was a real ordeal.

Is it still so hot where you are?
It's cooled down a lot here, only 20° today.

Still above 30°C. They promise slightly cooler for the upcoming 3 or 4 days — then it will go up again, apparently.

They're from Gelatelli which are usually very good. Just not this Sea Adventure collection. But they have the sticks I need, and they're cold, so I'll cope. For a while anyway.

Oh, don't eat bad ice cream, that's a depressing thought. Could you buy a box of straight popsicle sticks and then make some popsicles or sorbet yourself and use the sticks for that? Recycle afterwards?

Alas, I never saw the sticks sold on their own. I'm sure there are special shops that sell them, but I never saw any.

I'm beginning to feel left out, with all your talk of excessive heat and that of my friends in the US. On the other hand, it's a nice kind of 'left out'. I don't do humid heat well...and UK heat is always humid.

I can only imagine how nice it feels to be "left out". *g* Good for you!

I feel comforted that I can purchase the sticks without the nasty tasting cheap ice cream substitute. (There's a craft store close by.) The only thing I have to remember are the various names the sticks are called:
Popsicle sticks
Tongue depressers
Craft sticks
Ice cream sticks

Wishing you a cooling breeze, at least, if not cooler temperatures.
