I want to get done as much as possible during June, as July will be - hopefully - [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo month, in which I hope to do some serious writing, for a change. Then I'll still have August and the first half of September to finish anything that hasn't been done by then.

Anyway, here are Pages 16 and 17:

You can see what a rubbish photographer I am - the vertical edges almost never make it to the photo. Please believe me when I say that they're always contoured the same way the horizontal and the inside edges are. I just never seem to get them into the picture. *sigh*

In any case, Page 17 isn't actually finished yet; what you see here is the closed flap, behind which a recipe will be hiding. *g* Aside from crafting these two pages, I also begun typing up the recipes that I can't simply photocopy because they're either in a wrong size or not phrased accordingly to a child's understanding. That will be another batch of slave labour, which is the other reason why I want to have as much crafting done as quickly as possible.

Other than that, not much happened. I cooked and did other assorted parts of housework, which ate half the day, as usual, but that can't be helped. At least I didn't have to leave the house today, which was a relief. Heat isn't my thing at all!

Thank you! :) They meant a great deal of finicly work, but I'm quite content with the outcome. Keeping that teddy bear calendar we got from the childcare organization we support was the best idea, ever!

A very sensible strategy, and you're making really tremendous progress. How many pages will there be when it's finished?

Twenty-six, unless I've miscounted. *g*

Was about asking the same question! How many pages will the cooking book have when finished? That has to be a lot of work!

Twenty-six, including the covers — assuming that I've counted correctly. *g*

I somehow managed to catch a cold despite barely leaving the house and never unmasked/being finicky about handwashing. I'm miserable but also kinda impressed with myself lol

With this idiotic weather, it isn't surprising that your health just couldn't bear it. I hope you'll get better, soon. *hugs*

Thanks! I hope so, too. It's been one health thing after the other for me these past weeks (though fortunately all only annoying nothing serious) and I'm sick of having to take it easy and spending my free time on bedrest

That sounds depressingly familiar, especially with the various consequences of Mum's accident. :(
Is your Mama in good health, by the way?

Yeah, she is doing alright. She had some problems with her knees lately but she handled the vaccine so well, so there is that.

The bear pictures are from a calendar we got from the organization that raises money for children with leukemia; one of the childcare organizations that we support. I think it's fitting that the teddies will go to a child.

So you're making a cookbook? (I know I asked on a previous post, but I can see that's what you're doing.) Is it a gift for someone or something you are publishing? It looks great! What kind of recipes are you putting in?
