More cookbook cuteness

I made good headway today. It's always practical when it isn't anything watchable on the telly - one gets to do more important things. *g*


Let's start with the meanwhile finished Pages 4-5 (and yes, I've spotted the spelling mistake and corrected it in the meantime).



Pages 6-7. Believe or not, the background on the right side is actually turquoise, meaning it's more green than blue, but my iPad mini has this odd fixation with turning various colours into blue.



Pages 7-8. The pocket on the left side wasn't originally striped. I just added a few scraps that have been waiting patiently to get used.

Last one for today: Pages 10-11



I created 6 sections within the book: Snacks and Drinks, Breakfast Ideas, Simple Lunch, Desserts, Cakes and Cookies and Beloved Family Recipes. The book has 28 pages altogether, including the inside of the covers. So each section has one front page and room for 3 recipes, the rest of the recipes will go into a pocket at the end of each section. That way, the kid can collect more recipes and sort them into the book later.


Other than that Mum decided that she wanted to cook chicken soup today. We managed to get through the event without injuries (her eyesight isn't the best, and while she can manage well enough, I'm always scared when she's in the kitchen; well, since the accident anyway). Of course, this means that I have to be nearby in case she needs something she can't fetch herself. Also, when she was done with the soup, it was my turn to make the chicken pilaw.

Cuteness alert! I love the bears even more today! Funny thing is that Theo was the name of the only bear I had when a child.

As I mentioned yesterday, one of the childcare organizations Mum and I support sent us a teddy calendar a few years ago. The pictures were so cute I didn't have the heart to throw them out, and now they're coming in handy.

I'm trying to make a very cheerful cookbook, with bright colours and nice pictures; it is for a 6-year-old's birthday, after all!

That book is going to be a treasured possession...I hope. I'm smiling as I picture you trying to help in the kitchen, whilst also staying out of your Mum's way. I suspect your kitchen is not much bigger than mine, which only allows people to pass if they strand sideways and breathe in.
