My little flock of paper owls is nearly finished. The last 12 birdies got their wings attached and their contours drawn, so all I still have to do are the beaks. Which will take me several days, most likely, as cutting out and applying such tiny parts is finickly work. But it will be done till next Tuesday... I hope. *fingers crossed*

Other than that, we had the monthly flat cleaning frenzy, plus the quarter-yearly visit from the exterminator, so we're squeaky clean now. Until one of us opens the coffee maker to empty it from the used coffee powder. It always get evenly spread over all available surfaces, no matter how careful either of us is. The thing is simply cursed, I think.

Because of the Big Cleaning (TM), we did not cook today. Leftover soup with parts of the frozen monster Swiss roll thawed out... that was our lunch. And it was yummy!

After a few nice, sunny days we had a bit of rain today... still having it, in fact. Obviously, we can't expect June to be, you know, sunny and warm. We'd probably get spoiled or whatnot. Well, as long as the balcony isn't leaking, I can live with a bit of rain.
*again, fingers crossed, but I am careful to put my hopes too high*

Your coffee maker is related to our paper shredder - no matter how carefully I empty the bin it always liberally spreads the shredded paper around.

The paper owls sound so cute! Please share a picture when you're done :)

Well done on the cleaning — I really have to get on that next weekend, I've been either busy or simply too tired lately but it needs done soon.

Fortunately, we have help with the cleaning, but even so, it's an exhausting task. Our flat is fairly small — only 53 square metres, and that includes the balcony — so in order to get it clean, we have to haul furniture and other stuff from one corner to another all the time.

Owl picture is coming up as soon as they have their beaks. We agreed upon a group photo. ;))

Soon, I promise. :)

As for the flat, well, we moved in 43 years ago with all the large, old-fashioned furniture, and we were 3 adults at that time (Grandma still being alive), so it was crowded quarters for quite a few decades. We still don't have all that much living space, but we manage.

At least you have help cleaning!

How many rooms are your 53m²?

Let's see: two bedrooms, the living room, the balcony, the floor, the kitchen, the bathroom and the loo — that would be eight if I've counted correctly.

May I join the club? Each time I have to clear the coffee grounds container the water will spilll over the floor before I reach the sink!

We should form a self-support group: Victims of Kitchen Appliances Anonymous. *g*

I am the person designated to clean our work coffee machine. I don't use it (I have little add-water-and-strip vanilla coffee sachets) but somehow, the work machine cleaning is my job. I am definitely a Victim. People try to USE IT while it's half pulled apart for cleaning. Injury is just around the corner.

I hear you re coffee grounds. I don't make 'proper' coffee nowadays, but when I did use my cafetiere I always seemed to get grounds all over the sink, drainer, floor and worktops.

IKR? I couldn't live without proper coffee, but the coffee grounds are evil.
