So, today I took half the morning free; I needed to pick up my lovely surprise gift from [livejournal.com profile] manue7a at the post office, I had to order eggsies at school and I had to go to the Müller drugstore for some dental products that you can only get there.

When at Müller's, I discovered that they had these amazing, hand-made papers on sale. Granted, I already had all three blocks, but now I got the three for the price of one. How could anyone resist? Certainly not yours truly. Especially as this was the last package in the store. So I swallowed (even so, they were pricely) and bought them.

On my way back to the post office - I always start these rounds at the farthest point from home and drift back, in the illusion that it's faster that way (it really isn't) - I went by Rayher's. That's about the biggest (and perhaps most expensive) craft shop in town. Fortunately, it's out of my usual way, so I'm rarely tempted. But today I wanted to go there, in order to find some more food-themed scrapbook paper for Theo's cooking book.

I found these:

Wine & Co.

Well, I probably won't use this particular one for a child's cooking book, but doesn't it look absolutely gorgeous?

On the other hand, I certainly can use parts of these:

"Sweets" and "Chocolate"

Actually, I went there to find this sheet again:

Which I fortunately did, but then I spotted this one, too, and I absolutely had to buy it, as I've already had another one of their "Grand Hotel" series:

So yeah. It was an expensive trip. Especially as I happened to walk by a little stationer's shop where I used to buy a specific sort of double-sided tape. Later I found the same in the small craft shop near the Auchan supermarket. Alas, the latter craft shop closed a couple of months ago (probably due to the pandemic), so I thought I'd stock up and bought some double-sided tape as well.

Clearly, one shouldn't allow me to go to town. It's safer for my finances if I'm locked down tightly. But folks, it was intoxicating!

Meeting the girls at school was nice, too. I got an invitation for the farewell event of one of the 8th-term classes; the last one I spent a full year with in the afternoon shift. It will be held in the school yard, with only the three eighth-term-classes present, so I think I'll risk it. I won't have to mix with the masses, just sit in the classroom where we used to bake together and wink them as they make their round in the room. Masked, of course. :)

OTOH, I still don't go to the Oldies' choir practice, and I won't go to the get-together with my main choir, either, even though it'll be held in some terrace or other open place. Not only for myself; I've got Mum to consider, too. And I do want to go to Elise's farewell party. She'll be retiring at the end of the term, and the 14 of us who'll hold this private little party for her will be in some open place, too. I might not stay long, just until we hand over our farewell gift, and to chat with the others I haven't seen for a while from a distance, but I'm planning to go to that one.

Aren't they? Rayher's is fantastic when it comes to scrapbook paper. I could spend there a monthly pension if I wouldn't hold back with desperate efforts. *g*

Some things are just so hard to resist. I could spend a small fortune on craft supplies myself.

Is choir singing allowed yet in Hungary? Here it´s definitely not, we´ll have to wait till the middle of June, and probably longer. Your craft paper sheets are so cute! Theo will love the cupcakes!

I honestly don't know, but the conductor of the Oldies always checks the situation thoroughly, so perhaps there is. As long as they all have their Impfpass and keep distance, I guess. Definitely not something I'm going to risk.

Yes, the cupcakes are very appetizing. Stamperia papers are generally wonderful; alas, they're also expensive. But today was one of those rare days when I got beyond the supermarket on the next corner and defiantly decided that I've deserved something nice. ;)

You sound just like me, 'ooh, that's pretty ... and that ... and that. Oops I've just spent more than I planned, but isn't it all beautiful!'

Now that sounds very familiar. For me it's paper craft, felt craft, cork craft, thingies with Nespresso capsules, textile crafts, candle decorating... and all those things mixed with each other. Small wonder that I have such a huge backlog of unfinished fanfic stories!

What marvelous papers!

When TODS and I were unemployed for a couple of years, we took to watching a craft show by a lady named Carol Duval, who had a very soothing presence. We actually did very little crafting, but we really enjoyed the show!

Even now, when I get junk mail that comes in a particularly pretty envelope (most often it seems to be credit card offers that come in envelopes with shimmery holographic designs), I think very briefly about saving the envelope to use for a project, like they would recommend on the show. But I don't.
