After having eaten [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat's amazing ginger-carrot soup for five days (I kid you not!), we've finally run out of it. Mum was a bit disappointed. She said she'd be willing to eat it every day, she likes it so much. But we must be more varied in our diet, right? So, tomorrow there'll be canned soup and potato goulash, as we call it. I've got some frozen sausages (Wiener Würstchen) and creme freche that needs to be used up.

I was also considering taking down my egg tree, since I didn't have much to do today. In the end, though, I've decided against it. Easter time officially lasts until Pentecost, so the presence of the egg tree is still justified. And it is so pretty, isn't it? I really must try my hand on something like this again.

Easter eggs 01

Other that, I talked on the phone to two friends, which after the last two lonely days was really nice, and I mended Mum's favourite dusting cloth that was starting to come apart on the seams. We also watched re-runs of the GBBO and its German celebrity version, and I did some actual reading today. Granted, it was for research, but it was an actual novel, which hasn't happened for a long time.
(It was the first DS9 re-launch book titled "Avatar", in case anyone is interested.)

I wish my friends answered their phones more often.

Oh, trust me, it takes me days to hunt down mine, too. :(

That's great that she liked it so much.
The egg tree looks pretty.

We old ones are allowed to stick to tradition. It is different with my offspring, even though number three sent me a photo of the bonfire he had done on the 30th.

The interesting thing with traditions is that they get rediscovered from time to time. Fortunately. :)

I love your egg tree and would be reluctant to take it down too. The soup sounds yummy. I have discovered that I like just about anything containing ginger.

Here is where I posted the original recipe — it is easy and not terribly specific, if you see what I mean!

I am so glad that it is something your Mum likes (and you too, of course) — I am sure you eat it more often than I do ;)

Your Easter tree is so pretty. We didn't put our one up for the church children as we were still in lock-down. I should hve had them decorate it last week instead but it didn't occur to me.

I was thinking of decorating more eggshells this year — I have some already coloured ones that have been sitting in a cardboard box for 30 years or so — but I'm not sure my hands are still stable enough for such delicate work.

I love your Easter tree, definitely keep it out :0)
Speaking of which, I received your embroidery Easter card. Thank you, it is lovely. I really like the sequined stars on the egg. Unfortunately, I still have yet to mail yours, promise to get to the post office soon! I actually made ginger carrot soup not too long ago, inspired by both you and Curious Wombat (hats off to you both) pics and recipe. It was easy to make and delicious. Our grocery has been stocking bunches of organic carrots lately, which are nice and sweet, so it is time to make another batch.

Oh, I'm so glad it arrived and didn't disappoint in real life!
