A pleasant surprise

Sometimes it's the small things that can make one's day. On my food run today I also dropped in to the newsagent where I usually buy my German crossword puzzle booklets and television programme magazines. They couldn't get the latter for almost a year. I always asked, just to make sure not to miss a sudden influx of useful goodies, and lo and behold! - after a year or so, today I got my beloved "Nur TV": a wonderful magazine without ads but with lots of additional crossword puzzles. I'm deliriously happy! I interpret it as a sign that some semblance of normalcy is creeping back into our lives.

Other than that I did the weekly laundry, made another food run - these things are so heavy, I can't drag them home at once -, washed up multiple times, helped Mum with her exercises and talked to 3 different people on the phone. Oh, and we watched some re-runs of the GBBO while eating lunch. So, it was a day full of accomplishments.

BTW, there are still some after-Easter cards to claim if anyone else wants them. Claims can be staked by scrolling down two entries.

I haven't got the faintest — and neither have the ladies at the newsagent's. They kept telling their central office that people are asking for NurTV (I'm not the only one who likes it), but nothing happened. Then, out of the blue, with the latest batch of foreign press, it showed up. Let's hope they'll keep bringing it!

Hurrah for the little joys in life. We are in the bad weather season and just went through another power outage. So wonderful when it comes back on. Glad your magazines are back on the market.
