Nothing of import happened. The day was spent with cooking, laundry and the likes. I did a tiny bit of paper embroidery, though.

And I decided that I'll indeed trim my friendslist this weekend, at least temporarily. When I've gained at least some control over my life again, I'll probably add everyone again, but right now I want to restrict myself a bit.

Edit:
Okay, thanks to the wise advice of [livejournal.com profile] motodraconis I've managed to change my default view, so that I won't have to unfriend anyone! Yay!

I really don't want to un-friend anyone. It's just so that all those memes and Friday Fives and the likes swam under the really important posts. I've missed several times things I didn't want to miss, namely important posts about people's lives.

The other option is to adjust your default viewing filter, so bods can become invisible for a bit.

I hear you though, "snoozing" everyone on my facebook for a month has actually been a massive weight off me.

Err... how do I adjust my default viewing filter? Do I have to do that every time I check LJ or can I do so permanently?

Go into "settings" then "custom groups" "Manage custom friends groups"

In custom friends groups, there is something called "default view" select it, and then you can move people out of your default view, ("in group" and "not in group.") Then "save changes."

This means you stay friends, but the people you put into "not in group" will no longer appear on your friends feed. Later you can put them back in.

You can also set up filters, so only certain people read certain posts. This can be handy, for example, I've used filters to invite friends to a party at my place (in the UK). In theory I could invite everyone, but a chum in Germany can't just pop over to a BBQ in London at a weeks notice!

I hope I'm not one of the people you decided to cut.

Amen. I'd be hopelessly lost on my own.
