No, it isn't some odd recipe or the title of some obscure fanfic. It's actually a pattern for paper embroidery that I've finished today. I already made a version several years ago but wasn't very happy with the way it turned out, so now I tried the use of sequins for the sparkly effect. *g*

I couldn't find the original pattern on Pinterest, although I'm quite sure I had it from the stitching.cards website, but this was my first attempt:

And this is the second one:

Still far from perfect - for one thing I've made mistakes while pre-punching the holes already - but I like the colour pattern better. Of course, the picture itself isn't as blurred as the first one, so that's another advantage. ;)

Other than that I managed a bit of writing, Mum got the appointment for her next x-ray control and I ordered the private ambulance again. In other words: same old and blessfully uneventful.

I like the second one better too.

Good luck to your mum for her x-ray!

Thanks. To add insult to injury she's scheduled to get her first vaccination sometime next week, too...

That's a lot for her to deal with, I hope it all goes well.

I love the warm colours of your second attempt. And now I can´t get that title "The Caged Egg — An Easter Mystery Thriller" out of my head.

Something for Miss Marple to figure out, right? *g*

Why's the egg in a cage? ;-)

I haven't got the faintest idea. Perhaps its parents bought the apartment for the young bird while still in the egg?

I think both cards are nice and well made, not to mention that the colours are lovely. It is good to hear that both of you are doing well, I hope you will keep doing so.

The first one is nice — but the second one is definitely nicer :)

I like the second one better, too — especially the contrasting colours.

Thanks. :) I've got an insanely large heap of patterns for paper embroidery — a hobby I picked up in the convent, 30+ years ago — and I even tried a great many of them. Too bad the idea of taking photos before giving them away came too late, but you can take a look at my finished cards here (https://hu.pinterest.com/ekunster/my-own-designs/paper-embroidery/).

This is, of course, just a small percentage of what I've actually done in the last ten years or so, but it gives you the general idea, I think.

Edited 'cause I always mess up these links. Sorry.

Caged egg is totally hatstand, which rather makes it fun too!

Err... what? Hatstand? Like something you put your hat on when you aren't wearing it?
