Behold the back cover of Little Emma's quiet book - aka the ladybird page:

Admittedly, the pocket is a wee bit loose, but that was intentional: the small parts will need some storage space. Other than that, I'm quite content with the somewhat lopsided outcome.

The physiotherapist was satisfied with Mum's progress. We left the living room today, crossed the threshold and went to 1/3 of the anteroom. We removed the dressing from the wound - it's a fairly long incision, but it's practically healed now. The physiotherapist promised to ask the surgeon about the meds Mum was given in the hospital; if they could have damaged her stomach somehow, leading to the heartburn, and what could be done about it. It's a good thing the two know each other, we can hope for some sensible answers this way.

All in all, we had a fairly good day. Mum is very tired, the poor thing - physio with the therapist lady is always more demanding than doing the exercises on our own - but managed to eat her mashed potatoes, cooked apples, non-fat sponge cake and toast, so we at least managed to get some volume into her. We are going for small amounts, eaten slowly, several times a day, and hope for things getting better stomach-wise, too.

It is. But it's a necessary evil.

I hope the physiotherapist can find out some useful information and offer some suggestions that will help your mum's stomach. Sounds like the physiotherapy is going welll, even though it's tiring.

The ladybirds are adorable. Your poor Mum; I hope she gets some useful info on her stomach.

Well, I can't take credit for the ladybirds themselves; I bought them in the local Auchan supermarket. But they look good on that background, don't they? A shame that the little craft shop where I used to buy my felts has closed. :(

As for Mum, she managed to eat some soup today, which is a step in the right direction. *fingers crossed*

It is! Stomach problems are nothing new in our family, but not to this extreme!

Poor Mum. Eating should be one of her pleasures at the moment, with no access to the outside world, but she can't even enjoy that. I hope they sort things out for her. I marvel at your beautiful, neat sewing and your little Christmas ornament will be one of my treasures.

You are too kind. I'll simply have to send you some Easter felts, too. ;))

Love the ladybug page! Sewing a zipper by hand has to be difficult, but the pocket is such a great idea. Glad you and Mum received good news from the therapist. Wishing your Mum's stomach problems disappear soon.

As you can see, the zipper is sewed in more than a little shabbily, but I don't think Little Emma will mind. *g*
