Trying for normal
Feb. 8th, 2021 06:19 pmMum seemed to be in a very good mood in the morning, which was a relief. So I pulled myself together and did a bit of crafting: I started seaming the finished quiet book pages.
elwenlj is right - hand-sewing does have something peaceful. Even if you are sewing felt. *g*
The rest of the day wasn't very busy. I haven't cooked today - I had leftovers, including the canned soup I've been eating for four days by now, and I still do have a portion for tomorrow - and in the afternoon all that stress caught up with me, so I took a nap. It felt wonderful.
M, our choir leader dropped by with a bag of apples - another one of these mysterious, masked meetings in front of the house - which is very nice of her. Only that I'll have to cook litres of apple sauce and freeze them because I can't eat that many alone. But it will give me something to do, so it's okay.
In the late afternoon Mum was a bit more subdued than in the morning, but I think it came from the fact that she, too, napped in the afternoon and was a bit confused if it was morning or evening. This morning she was briefly up and did a tiny little walk (only a few steps) with the walking aid, although she isn't allowed to put her weight (such as it is) on the broken leg just yet. Unfortunately, the other leg is the one with the decades-long knee problems, so walking will be a real pain for quite some time yet. We still hope and pray that the bone will hold and that there won't be any complications.
The weather is really crazy. One would think it's April, not February. In the night, it was raining. In the morning, we had bright sunshine. In the late afternoon - including now - it's been raining, on and off a bit. So far, the balcony holds our. *fingers crossed*
I'm tired, despite having slept an extra hour today. And I still have some washing-up to do. Have I mentioned how I despise housework? Even if it fills out dead time, it never ends, and the results are gone before one has really finished. *sigh*
