She was a bit under the weather in the morning; she always is when she hasn't slept well. There must have been something in the air because I had weird dreams, too, and a common acquaintance of us complained about the same. Perhaps we felt the coming of rain today.

Because yes, it is raining. So far it is a mild rain, for which I'm grateful. I don't have the nerves to deal with balcony problems as well.

The days are slow and filled with concern. I live from late morning phone call to early afternoon phone call and bridge over the rest with housework. Fortunately, it's the nature of every flat that you can always find something to clean or arrange or whatnot.

I didn't go to the hospital today and won't go tomorrow, either. Mum said (she was feeling better in the afternoon) that she currently has everything she needs. So I'll be going on Tuesday, with lots and lots of 0.5 liter flasks of mineral water, muesli yougurt and other small things. And hope that she'll keep improving. *sigh*

Did you already get a notification when your mum will get discharged from hospital? Because that's when it might get complicated, depends on if she'll have rehabilitation or not.

No. I don't know a thing about what to expect. Her friend (whose brother went through the same at a similar age) says that they usually keep people for a week, if there aren't any complications. But I didn't get to talk to anyone who'd actually know anything, since I'm not allowed into the hospital.

Glad to hear your mum perked up in the afternoon.

Fingers crossed the rain won't get worse.

It has stopped for the time being; let's hope that even if it restarts it will remain mild.

It does sound like your mum is doing pretty well, you on the other hand... you must try and chill out and recharge! Having said that, if the flat does get tidied up and scrubbed out, that will be a nice welcome back for your mum.

So far I haven't got any further than scrubbing certain dishes. Mum usually insists on doing the washing-up but she no longer sees everything and I can't do it when she's around because I'd hurt her feelings. So I've been scratching some pots under the rim today... and the inside of the handles of some cups. Four or five pieces down, several dozen to go...

Oh yes, hugs are good, thank you! Of course I've got my own teddy to hug but it can't hug back, so hugs from the outside are always appreciated. :)

I am so glad she sounds as if she is recovering — hopefully you will both sleep better for the next few nights so you are rested by the time they discharge her.

Hang in there. Sounds like she's doing well, and they won't keep her there any longer than they have to.

Each day brings an improvement for your Mum, and that is wonderful. I'm so glad you're able to talk to each other!!!

Keeping busy with housework is a good way to fill days filled with concern. My heart goes out to you. Try not to worry too much, keep reminding yourself she is doing well,
and when she is able to come home, you will take each day as it comes, and no matter what, you will get through it.

I hope your Mum heals quickly without complications. At least, you are able to visit briefly and bring items that she needs.

Actually, no, I wasn't even allowed to enter the hospital. I had to leave everything at the entrance where an employee collected the things for the patients.
