Service guy was here today and it turned out that the failure was a minor one. He managed to conjure my channels back, in the same quality as before. Which means that some channels are still pixellated beyond what would be still watchable, but that's apparently because of the satellite is having issues or there are atmospheric turbulences or whatnot. Anyway, three channels are actually better than they were, so that's progress. Even if it cost me a pretty penny for about ten minutes of work. But it's the results that count, right?

In other news I've finished the birdie page for Little Emma's quiet book. Beware of the lopsided birdies in eye-watering colours! I still like them though.

I also managed to put away the artificial tree for next year, cook lunch - chicken breast with cauliflower and a cheese sauce, baked over in the oven - and make an inventory of all my felts. Now that another craft shop has closed I needed to know what I actually have and how to ration it until I find a new source.

Right after lunch my friend Evie dropped by to perform our usual, highly suspicious masked exchange in front of our building. She brought me a bag of apples and I gave her some of the cherry tart, so we were both happy.

What I didn't manage today was writing. Again. But it was a busy day, not fit for quiet contemplation of storylines.

It is a relief that no major parts needed to be replaced.

Congrats for having a TV again! I rarely watch mine, but miss it when we don't have it.

Ah, but it gives such a lovely background when you're doing something else!

We tend to use the radio or CD player for that.

Well, I never really liked the radio. And I don't even have a CD player.

OMG, the birds are so cute! Love the bright colors, and the (comparatively) subtle owl is darling. I'm sure Little Emma will enjoy this page a lot.

our usual, highly suspicious masked exchange

Hee hee! I can just see the enhanced footage on an episode of Law & Order, with one of the detectives pointing to the screen and saying, "We couldn't quite make out what they were exchanging--possibly drugs or secret documents."

"Looks like apples to me."

"Well, if they *looked* like secret documents, they wouldn't be SECRET, would they???"

That is very true. I can't help thinking of similar things either, every time she drops by with something. *g*

Starting with my zoo reports right tomorrow morning. Unless the current snowfalls covers the satellite dish on the rooftop.

Yummy and easy to make. I don't like dishes that need a lot of fuzz.

I kept the colours of the owl muted because the other birds are so eye-wateringly bright. *g*

Love the bird page! Glad you got your TV back and that it wasn't something major. I'm switching internet providers next week as my current one just priced themselves out of my market. Neither of the choices have a good reputation, so I may be going from the frying pan into the fire — sigh. Prices on everything are rising daily, except my income, of course.

As I tend to put it: everything seems to be expensive in these days — except human life!
Good luck with finding a provider that isn't entirely horrible.
