LJ sluggishness

Has anyone else experienced problems with LJ? I need at least two starts to everything: accessing it, posting a comment, etc., as it always gives me an error message first. And it's incredibly sluggish - I need 20-30 seconds for every page to download. Usually it's 2 seconds.

On a different matter, I've re-found my whole LOTR stuff - the whole folder I thought I had accidentally deleted a month or two ago. It seems I've accidentally moved the entire thing into an unrelated folder - into the files of my Mahjongg game. *g* I wonder why it didn't show up on a search, but, well, at least it's back. After I've hunted down most of the research notes from the 'Net again.

Anyway, I'm glad to have my beta files back. My wonderful betas (*bows in the direction of Larian, Jenn and Brigid*) always give me such funny comments, I'd have hated to lose them.

Oh, and I started to go to the fitness studio again. Yesterday. Now I'm aching on places I didn't even know I possess. Ain't the human body a wondrous thing? But what do I expect after not having done anything for three years?

All right, back to translating Crossroads into English. It's one hell of a work, but it has to be done.

I've been having nothing but problems with LJ today, too. It's very frustrating, and I hope they get whatever's wrong with the site sorted out quickly!

Yes! It's taken me a couple of try to get here to comment. I've noticed LJ seems to really be dragging in every aspect. I'm about to give up on trying to get through my friends list.

LJ has been a nightmare for me! In fact, this was the first time I was able to access it at all today. And then it took three tries before it accepted my comment.

I often have problems with LJ in the evening, especially after ten o'clock. But the last two, three nights it has been worse than usual - too much so to merely ascribe the problem to heavy traffic.

I had the same problem of sluggish LJ the whole day and the only thing that saved me from getting a fit were the two CDs I bought today.

I am glad you have your files back, but the offer I made regarding my helping you with my research library still stands :)

Thanks. I'll return to your generous offer when I've finished some of my ongoing projects and find the time to give the "Sons of Gondor" series some serious thougts.

What sort of CDs have you bought?

Oh, there is the Live CD the German fantasy metal band "Blind Guardian" recorded in honour of their world tour. BTW, they also recorded a gorgeous album dedicated to showing the Silm from the Feanorian (Maglor's) POV, it is called "Nightfall in Middle-earth"

And the other CD is the calm and melancholy soundtrack for "Hidalgo". The film itself could have been better, but the soundtrack is great, especially how it combines normal Western music with Native American and Arabic elements.
