Not the kind for clothes; that was always frustrating. But going to grocery shops, books shops, craft shops, supermarkets... that kind of shopping I liked. Now it has become a burden. The current situation has taken all enjoyment out of it. Fortunately, I only had to make two rounds today and am all set until next Tuesday. Still, these are the times when I envy people who have a car.

Anyway, I was fairly drained for the rest of the day. Thank God I got to talk to two former colleagues, which was a delight. I didn't have to cook today, either; we heated up some Wiener sausages and Mum made a canned soup. Grandma is probably rolling in her grave, but we were content with it.

I feel you on this. Mom and I were talking about this today as it was grocery day today - grocery shopping used to be an everyday thing squeezed in between other stuff, just drop by the store real quick. Now it's always an ordeal where you are bracing yourself for days before you force yourself to go.

Indeed. Not to mention the effort to carry home as much stuff as you can lift, so that you won't have to leave the house for at least three days; plus the protests of your back. I wish I had muscles like Tyr. *points at icon*

Although perhaps beneath a Nietzschean's dignity. Shopping, I mean. *g*

They aren't over there? Here they are open, I just won't risk to get a foot into the one that sells English books and DVDs - and happens to be on the other side of the Danube.

It's definitely not fun with the mask and trying not to get into the way of people.

The latter of which is nearly impossible, as most of them have no idea about "distancing".

I know how that goes - sigh. The only places I go now - the doctor and the supermarket :0( Both have become a major pain.

Making two rounds does make it a lot more work. :/

Well, making only two rounds means a relatively easy shopping day. Usually, it is more.

Sometimes eating out of tins is just the way to go. I'm a firm believer in keeping life simple.

So do I, most of the time. Then I go mad and start complicating things. *g*

I am so glad that I have the car, it makes food shopping so much easier and lets me buy enough for 10 days or so at a time, I really feel for you needing to go out so often at present.

Yes, these are the time when I envy people who own cars. As a rule I don't miss having one as mass transportation is very good in our city. But now I'd love to be able to buy two sixpacks of mineral water instead of only two bottles a time and calculating how long they will last. Same with potatoes, flour, bread and the likes.

I long for the days when, if in the mood, I could linger in a store, whether it was a clothing store, or crafts, or general goods, or grocery. I'd meander up and down every aisle, not intending to buy much of anything, but just sight-seeing:) Now, it's in-and-out with all haste, and vigorous hand sanitizing and washing up after, and fingers crossed for days that I haven't picked up the virus.

It certainly takes off the enjoyment of it, doesn't it? I so loved it stroll through the stores, and Mum did it, too. I don't even dare to take her out these days.
