More picspam, after all

I realized yesterday that I never posted the deep sea page of Little Emma's quiet book here, so hereby I correct that mistake:



All sea creatures are either removable or they have moving body parts. The mermaid looks a bit bloated, but her hair can be plaited, and the colourful "pearls" can be moved by had from one place to another under the net.

And since I got such amounts of walnuts from by friends as Christmas gifts, I also decided to make an old recipe called "Pozsonyi kifli". I haven't got the faintest how it could be translated into English; in German we'd say "Pressburger Kipferln". In Austrian German, I mean. Pressburg is the German name of Bratislava, now capital city of Slowakia, but during the old Monarchy it belonged to Hungary and was called Pozsony.

All right, enough of the history lesson, here come the cookies:



H. - Little Emma's grandma - sent us a few photos about the grandkiddies under the Christmas tree, so we're quite pleased. We'd have loved to be there with them at Christmas Eve, but this wasn't that kind of year, so photos are a real treat.

The secret is to make them in small portions. I've started this one back in September or October; collected the motifs, planned out the pages, made the templates, cut out some parts. Then I did it one page a time. I've made four and a half pages so far, which is about half or two thirds of the book (I still haven't made up my mind whether it should have four double pages or five). But the deadline is June, so I think I'll finish it on time. *fingers crossed*
