... and failing. It was much easier during Advent. Especially as, to quote John Watson, "nothing happens to me". Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just a bit blank sometimes.

Being housewifey-i helps at least fill the empty hours of the day, at least. I'd rather write, but my brain refuses to cooperate. Or is it my soul? In either case, writing doesn't happen in these days. I did some cooking, combining leftovers to a presentable lunch, and I baked poppy seed knots, since I hadn't bought enough bread to last till Tuesday, and I don't intend to go out on the first regular day after Christmas and weekend, when everyone will run to besiege the grocer shops.

In case you are wondering, these are the poppy seed knots:

They are basically rolls, made of yeast dough, and formed like knots. Hence the name.

I also worked a bit on my story book. I've finished all ten page bases and started making the colourful little tents. Two down, at least ten more to go. Perhaps even more. I ought to pick up working on Little Emma's quiet book, too, but I just can't bring up the energy. Paper crafts are so much faster and easier than sewing.

So, that was my fairly unexciting day. I had two phone conversations, a short one with my friend Evie and a long one with H., Little Emma's grandmother, and that was basically it. Thank God there are re-runs of old GGBO episodes. I'm really not in the mood to watch Harry Potter, Percy Jackson or Bud Spencer and Terence Hill over and over again. That's what the telly calls "entertainment" in these days, while all really interesting things are put on the hold because of the holidays.

We don't plan to go shopping on Monday either. It will surely be crazy!

Es ist immer verrückt nach irgendwelchen Festtagen! Als ob Leute Angst vor dem Verhungern hätten, trotz der festlichen Freßorgien...

The bread looks really good - I reckon cold turkey and stuffing sandwiches are one of the best parts of Christmas and your poppy seed rolls would be just perfect for them..

I'm not a big Harry Potter fan either. Who are Percy Jackson, Bud Spencer and Terence Hill?

Here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bud_Spencer) you can learn the basics of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill. And this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Jackson) is the Percy Jackson franchise in a nutshell.

They are a bit on the sweet side but not so much that they wouldn't fit, I guess.

According to Mum, they taste good, too. I was too stuffed with lunch to have one for supper.

The SciFi channel here plays Harry Potter almost every week. And Futurama. Because, apparently, they've never ever had any other shows or movies. :/

I don't think I've watched UK TV for a couple of months or more. It's probably mainly re-runs or old movies, what with Covid suspending all new production.

It is particularly annoying during school holidays. They always play things they think the kiddoes would be interested in. I for my part seriously doubt it. Most kids hang on their PC in these days anyway.

I wouldn't mind re-runs, if only they would re-run the things I am interested in. Alas, my taste rarely matches that of the general masses... if ever.

There is unexcited and then there is bleak. Our "major holiday" was bleak to the extreme.

They are not as good as usual - I guess the yeast has lost some of its effect due to waiting too long in the fridge - but still good enough. *g*

They look yummy. I would consider my day super productive if I baked something like that!
