You know, the advantage of such and Advent countdown is that I don't have to think of a new subject line each day. ;))

Anyway, today we had our last cleaning frenzy before Christmas. Since it was a more thorough one than usual, we finished at 1.30pm. Even with the hired help, it was an exhausting process, so I postponed going to the post and to the bank till tomorrow. Instead, I did a bit of baking (only two sorts, one of which will go to the diabetic hubby of our conductor), a bit of writing (really not much) and will watch a bit of telly, as BR (the Bavarian channel) is going to show some really cool cookies at 9pm. It clashes with the re-run of The Great British Bake-Off, but I've already seen that at least twice, so BR it will be.

Other than that, it is raining again. And it will continue raining most of the week, according to weather forecast. Oh, joy. We can bite our nails anxiously because of the dratted balcony again. *sigh*

My Good Thing of the day:
My friend Evie dropped by and brought us some special sausages (liverwurst and black pudding, respectively), which she specially bought on the market for us. She handed it to me in the mildly falling rain in front of our building, while I handed her the "Twelve Days of Christmas"-style Advent calendar I made for her. It was a surreal moment. *g*

Nun ja, BR zeigte eine Konditorin die 106 verschiedene Sorten gebacken hat - zu Hause, aus Leidenschaft. Das ist etwas das ich nie werde überbieten können!

It is a heavy burden. *nodnod*
Which is why some of my stories in fandom A have the same chapter titles as another story in fandom B, C or D...

If they do more GBBO eps I hope they bring back that Little Britain guy, he's hilarious! (I don't find that other guy funny though)

I like Matt Lucas. I don't like Noel (I forget his last name)

Oh, I get it! They never played the season with Matt Lucas over here, but Noel is an annoying idiot. As you said once, extremely unfunny, although he clearly things himself as a great comedian.

I wonder if there were any secret agents watching us - and what they might have made of the scene. *g*

does that darn balcony serve any positive purpose? Like, can you walk out onto it o keep potted plants on it?

It is a closed balcony, complete with furniture. It's unheated, so we keep there some china we rarely use and the half of my craft supplies. It is also the place where we have our Christmas tree, as even a live tree can keep there more than a month, since it is cold and we don't stumble against the tree every time we cross the living room. In the rest of the year, we air our bedlinens during the day before we make our bed for the night.

So yeah, it does have positive purposes. And we weren't plagued with the leakage until a few years ago. I suppose someone did some reconstruction work above us (we live on the second floor of a ten-storey building) and managed to drill a hole into the concrete wall somewhere. That's where the water comes in when the rain hits the building in a particular angle, and then comes down to us through the hair breaks in the concrete. Which is why finding the source is near impossible. *sigh*

I hope the weather is mild while you are having all this rain. Nothing worse than cold, wet - at least in my opinion. Unfortunately, that is what our winters are mostly like over here. Hope your balcony stays dry.
