Advent, Day 7
Dec. 7th, 2020 06:54 pmYou know, the advantage of such and Advent countdown is that I don't have to think of a new subject line each day. ;))
Anyway, today we had our last cleaning frenzy before Christmas. Since it was a more thorough one than usual, we finished at 1.30pm. Even with the hired help, it was an exhausting process, so I postponed going to the post and to the bank till tomorrow. Instead, I did a bit of baking (only two sorts, one of which will go to the diabetic hubby of our conductor), a bit of writing (really not much) and will watch a bit of telly, as BR (the Bavarian channel) is going to show some really cool cookies at 9pm. It clashes with the re-run of The Great British Bake-Off, but I've already seen that at least twice, so BR it will be.
Other than that, it is raining again. And it will continue raining most of the week, according to weather forecast. Oh, joy. We can bite our nails anxiously because of the dratted balcony again. *sigh*
My Good Thing of the day:
My friend Evie dropped by and brought us some special sausages (liverwurst and black pudding, respectively), which she specially bought on the market for us. She handed it to me in the mildly falling rain in front of our building, while I handed her the "Twelve Days of Christmas"-style Advent calendar I made for her. It was a surreal moment. *g*

Date: 2020-12-08 03:58 pm (UTC)So yeah, it does have positive purposes. And we weren't plagued with the leakage until a few years ago. I suppose someone did some reconstruction work above us (we live on the second floor of a ten-storey building) and managed to drill a hole into the concrete wall somewhere. That's where the water comes in when the rain hits the building in a particular angle, and then comes down to us through the hair breaks in the concrete. Which is why finding the source is near impossible. *sigh*
