I am moderately outraged
Nov. 16th, 2020 06:38 pmOr not so moderately, as the case might be.
Ever since Vodafone swallowed UPC, my decades-long internet and television provider, we had nothing but anger with them. Small annoyances, granted, but still annoyances. Now, however, they've topped everything.
Imagine this: as of 1 March 2021, they'll stop their e-mail service. Just like that. No explanation, no excuses, no nothing. And, of course, we'll still have to pay the same for the rest of their services.
Switching e-mails wouldn't be such a big problem in itself. The problem is, I'm registered with the e-mail they've provided everywhere that counts. Including government sites where I get all my tax info and other such stuff. Now I'll have to go to each and every one of these sites and change my e-mail manually. And in most cases I don't even know how to do it. I also have to employ IT guy next door to change the settings on both my main PC and my laptop because they're set up to automatically download the UPC address, that having been my primary one. I know, every ten-year-old can do these things on their own, but I'm a dinosaur and deadly afraid of making any changes on my computer because I don't know how to undo it if I mess something up.
I'm amazed by the total f*ck-up of Vodafone - they do this at a time when people are more dependent on their computers than ever before!
Nicer things in the next post as I don't want to poison them with this.

Date: 2020-11-17 12:09 am (UTC)I have seperate gmail accounts for personal, business, family etc. I have four set up for me, and one for my mum. She can’t even receive her power bills without an email, but she doesn’t have a computer, smart phone or tablet.
