The first Xmas cards for 2020

After cutting out various potential parts for days, I finally decided to make some actual cards today. Here they are:



Five cards, because I've cut out five different window frames and wanted each one a try. The arched windows are from the perspective when you look out from the inside, the square ones the opposite. I used all sorts of leftover stickers, postcards and gift tags to make the scenes behind the window planes.

Not as professional as the stuff these gifted scrapbooking women do on YouTube, but for an amateur like me they aren't bad, if I dare to say so myself. *g*

Other than that, I tried out a new recipe for creamed potato soup. Mum liked it a lot. I liked it, too, and I usually not one for potato soup. So we'll put it onto the regular menu.

I've also did a bit of re-vamping of Chapters 7 and 8 of SD5. I realized that they won't work as individual chapters because they'd slow down the flow of events hopelessly. So I shortened the story by one chapter for the time being; we'll see how it will go later. picowrimo is on the horizon already, which means inspiration and encouragement. Yay!

I think they look wonderful!

Not sure if I'll even be sending cards out this year; I've barely left the house in months. My area is one of the worst in the country for rising levels of infection.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I only ever go to the grocer's as well, unless Mum has an appointment with some doctor. Things are pretty bad over here, too, but what I hear about the UK is even more frightening. *hugs*

I'll have to send out or simply give away this year's cards. As a rule I make them for the school's annual charity fair, but there won't be one this year, due to the given situation.

There are a lot of things not happening this year, which is sad but necessary in order to protect as many people as possible.

You and your mum stay safe. Home is the best place to be.

I'm used to being home most of the time, by myself, so that part doesn't bother me too much, but it makes going out even more stressful when I have to.

Oh, I like being home - it is just the knowledge that I couldn't roam freely if I wanted that makes me crazy sometimes. Not that I'd have gone out much more since I've retired - well, save for the choir practices, which I terribly miss.

Yes, it must be hard not getting to enjoy your regular choir activities and socialise with the other choir members.

At least I have my garden so I can get outside when the weather is good.

It's a different kind of patience. Fabric is slow and easy without having to worry about glue drying and what not.

Thank you, but the truth is, I didn't really had a choice in the matter. I can't do internet shopping, and all those fancy tools and ready-made motifs are not available here.
