Aaand it's raining again!

We had yesterday afternoon and today morning rain-free, which enabled us to dry the balcony wall with the help of the electric heater... more or less. Then, just as we came out of the eye doctor's practice, it started raining again. It was fairly mild, almost-nonexistent all afternoon, but it has picked up speed again. No leakage yet, but it's still the early hours. I'm not feeling very optimistic.

At least the check-out at the eye doctor brought good results. My eyes are as good as they were last years, and she didn't find anything worrisome by Mum, either, although Mum feels that her eyesight has weakened a bit since last year. So far so good; it id doesn't get any worse, we can live with it. Therefore I'd be content with the day, if only we could avoid another flooding. *sigh*

No, neither do I. September is usually warm and sunny. At least it used to be when I still had to work in September...

We are quite relieved indeed. Mum has cataracts on both eyes, green ones in the right one and grey ones on the left one, but as long as she can still manage life, she doesn't want surgery. Her best friend gave it a try and it turned out really badly, so she feels reassured in her opinion.

Too bad about the friend. My mom had cataract surgery and did very well.

It is a great thing indeed. Especially considering how much time I spend with sewing, writing and in front of a computer screen... and that Mum's eyes are already weak enough.
