Reporting back
Oct. 4th, 2020 05:30 pmSorry for the absence, I had a somewhat odd day yesterday. Not that anybody couldn't live without my daily (boring) entries, I just promised myself a daily update, and I like to keep my promises.
Okay, all right, I wrote another couple of the requested birthday stories, typed them up - and forgot to lock them, so that the recipients wouldn't see them before the party. *ducks* So sorry! It's fixed now!
I also had an extremely long phone chat with my dear friend Evie, which was wonderful.
Today I woke up to find that it must have rained quite heavily while I was sleeping, as the dratted balcony was leaking again. *sigh* But we had strong wind all day, and that means that the wall is almost dry again by now. Of course, the same strong wind also pushed what little heat the extremely inefficient 3 or 4 hours of heating could produce out of the flat, but that can't be helped.
So I decided to do something against freezing and baked a nice little cheesecake, which meant the oven was going for about two hours, making the inside temperature bearable. The silly thing with a concrete building is that it lets in the cold (and the warmth) from the outside through the walls themselves, but with a delay. People were biking along the street in short-sleeved t-shirts, while we were sitting inside in winter parkas. If only they'd let the heating running for a full day to warm up the flat properly, then we wouldn't have this misery; but that would require, you know, thinking.
On a more positive note, I've managed to write two half-chapters (or probably just one-third chapters) to "Sleeping Dragons 5 - The Old Terror" and printed out some background research stuff, so I might be able to do more quality writing in the next days. *fingers crossed* (Unless I got distracted by decade-old entries over at
antigwenallies again)
