Petzi und die Bienen

Aka Teddy and the bees. Aka the first finished page of Little Emma's 2nd birthday quiet book:

The bees are on a leash so that they can be moved all over the page, from flower to flower and from beehive to beehive. The patterned ribbon on the bottom will eventually go around the entire page as the frame, but I can't apply it until the front cover is made, as the two will be seamed together.

Oh, and on the pot the bear is not-quite holding stands "Honey", of course. In Hungarian, because it's a lot shorter than in German. Little Emma is 1/4 German, like me, and otherwise I'm all for tending one's roots (all of them), but sometimes practicality wins over. *g*

Finishing the page took most of the day (save for cooking lunch), but I'm very happy with the outcome.

Oh, and Autumn has arrived last night, properly with stormy rain. The balcony was dutifully leaking. *sigh*

But I had a nice phone chat with Ilike, a colleague also retired, and this time it wasn't me who had to make the call to hear a human voice, so yeah, all in all a good day.

Thank you. I was lucky to find relatively simple patterns for the hives on the internet. For the bear, I simply used a cookie cut tét. ;))
