Because my hobbity heart needed a little success after the latest baking disaster.

Take a closer look:

Is it terrific or is it terrific?

Unfortunately, it is also a somewhat work-heavy cake, so between it and cooking lunch today I didn't really have much time left to do anything else. All right, I did a tiny bit of writing and transcribing, but that was basically it. A good thing that yesterday I managed to cut out almost all the sea creatures for the quiet book's sea page, so there was some headway on the crafting front during the weekend.

Thanks. This is not the first time I've made it (and not the last one, if I can help), but it doesn't always turn out so pretty.

Thank you. The dough is always a bit of a challenge, but I've found a highly unorthodox way to deal with it and that works like a charm: I roll it out directly on the bottom of the baking tin and simply sculpt the side by hand.

That is definitely a cake to be proud of, unlike the pear crumble I made yesterday.

As long as it tastes good the looks are of secondary importance, IMO.

Cheesecake anything is delicious, but that one looks truly decadent.

It's not that complicated, really. Just a layer of apples and a layer of jelly on top of the cheesecake filling, that's all. But this time it actually looks good, too, which is why it's made me proud.
