Writing and crafting
Sep. 16th, 2020 07:27 pmJust a little bit of each, but every little bit counts, right?
In the morning I started the little mermaid for the sea page of Little Emma's quiet book. So far, I've made the upper part of the body, with star-shaped eyes, seashell bra and green/blue flowers in her hair. Just above the forehead, though; she'll have long blonde hair of yarn on which Emma can learn how to plait. That's the plan anyway.
I've also printed out lots of sea creature templates, in the hope that it will give me ideas. This particular page is my own design, so I'll have to think about the placing of the elements and the possible activities very carefully.
I haven't determined all the pages yet. There will be the sea page, obviously. Then there will be one with a hen and eggs, in which there will be fluffy little chicks. Then I'm planning a page with a penguin and snowflakes, for counting. And a bunny garden page. And one where the same colour flowers and butterflies have to be matched. And a page with a teddy bear, a beehive and bees. That's it so far, but there might be more. Fortunately, I've got almost ten months to get the book done. *g*
In the afternoon I wrote a couple of pages for Chapter 5 of "A Stitch in Time". I think I've managed to bridge over the two totally different plot elements of this chapter well enough. Yay!
No household activities today as we ate leftovers. Leftovers are good.
