Grandma would have been 120 today - if she hadn't died at the age of 96. So, Mum and I decided to go to the cemetery in the morning and visit her grave. Well... the marble plate behind which the urn with her and Grandpa's ashes is hiding, in the urn wall of St. Gellért's Church.

Only that we couldn't leave in the morning as originally planned, as the central heating company wanted to install some gizmo on the radiators in the entire house. That means over 200 flats, with 4 radiators in every single one! So, instead of 9-is, we left the house around midday, when it was the hottest.

Still, we decided to go, because school restarts next Monday, and with that the second wave of the pandemic will most likely arrive. Even if it doesn't come to an official lockdown (although the borders have already been closed), I wouldn't risk taking Mum anywhere where she'd have to go by bus or by tram, full with idiots who don't wear the obligatory mask or wear it under their noses.

So we went to the cemetery, brought some dried flowers to put into the ten-centimetre little brass vase (we didn't take fresh flowers as we can't go all too often, and dead flowers are really depressing) and even ventured into LIDL on our way back. Of course, it means that we were too dead to do anything else for the rest of the day, but at least this overdue visit has been striked through on the to-do-list.

Oh my, they don't give you notice before planning something like that? That would drive me crazy! At least, you were still able to visit the cemetery. Such a shame that you and your Mum had to go in the heat of the day. Good to see your Mum doing well and able to go outside again.

It wasn't their fault! They'd hung up a notice weeks ago, I just managed to misread it - I thought they'd come on the 31st, but that's the other house.

We didn't need the schools to open here for the 2nd wave ... idiots going on holiday was enough. *grumbles*

My grandma would have been 100 in October. I still think we should go for dinner with my uncle on her birthday ...

That would be a nice idea. In our family, my mother is the last from her generation still with us.
Idiots going on holiday caused an increase in Covid-cases over here, too.

Your mum is lucky to have such a caring daughter. Cases are rising slightly here.

They are over here, too. Some people simply don't understand that a pandemic isn't the right time to go on holidays in Croatia, Spain and other such places.

Glad you were able to honour your Grandmother.
I read that school's reopening hasn't caused a surge in infections in other countries.
