Because I don't have enough ongoing projects already, right? I've just found this yesterday:

Or, more accurately, the idea starting at 2:23. I think that's something I really have to give a try. Although, instead of ready-made figurines, I'll use something like these:

Or these:

Or these:

All these are small items I made earlier, often with the kids in afternoon school. They are easily made and, what's more, they are mostly made of household junk, like Nespresso capsules or cardboard boxes for cheese or matchboxes - and of recycleable material like pressed paper baubles. I happen to have a small stash of those things, so I just may give the idea a try.

The 'snow-dome' idea is great! I think your little home-made fellows would be a good way to use recycleable items!

I'll have to try the sizes - they might be a little too large, actually.

My friend made something similar for her grandkids for Christmas once. It was kind of cute.

I very much prefer home-made Christmas decoration to all the stuff you can buy. Even if the professional things are, well, more professional. *g*

I remember those that you and the students made, they came out so cute. That video makes me nervous, haha. It looks so easily done, but just getting the materials together is time consuming, for me at least. I would have the house a mess in next to no time and it would stay that way for weeks on end. I really envy those that have the crafting bug and love it. For me, it is more a love/hate relationship.

I usually can't get my hand on the stuff these YouTubers work with. Or I can't work with it, even if I might get them. So I simply replace half the materials with what I find around the house or can get in the craft shop. Sure, they never look like the original, but they're always good enough for me.
