I cannot remember a July like this. Ever. Today, we had rain in the night, fairly low temperatures in the morning, bright sunshine in early afternoon, three showers so far, and I've changed my clothes twice because they were either too light or too warm. Crazy.

RTL2 (German TV channel) decided to replace all the programmes I usually watch on Sunday with utter crap. So I put the time to good use and finished my first pot holder. It was harder than expected, especially the seaming, but at least it is done. Two more to go, then I return to the drawstring bags (the pot holders were supposed to be something quick and easy between cherry stone pillows and drawstring bags... yeah, sure). And I have two tin cans to turn them into pencil holders. And lots of large matchboxes to make a miniature chest of drawers (or two; I have to count how many I actually own - I just threw them into the craft cupboard as soon as they were empty).

Mum is doing better, but she's still in pain, poor dear. Bruises can be very unpleasant, not to mention stubborn. I talked to two friends and to Baby Emma's grandmother (the only family we are on speaking terms with) today. It was good to get the whole scare off my chest.

As the craft project ate my whole day, no writing was done today. But at least I got some stuff typed up. That's progress, too, right?

We've had a strange summer so far as well, hardly any days over 30°-today has been one - and I haven't had to turn on the a/c yet.

It seems like everyone is saying this this year. It's just a doomed year from the get-go.

In many aspects, I'm afraid.

You sound very productive. I think bruising is often worse than the pain of the initial injury and I hope the inflammation goes down soon.

So do I, honestly. She has taken falls before, so I know what to expect, but it doesn't make easier to watch her in pain.

And this is the part where I fall in deep, deep silence about all of my unfinished projects... *g*
Although those are usually stories where writer's block hit me really hard, not craft projects. Craft projects are easy and very forgiving, compared with writing.

I feel for your Mum, the older we get the longer it takes to heal. Plus, a fall of any kind is scary. Seems to happen in a flash and so unexpected. Your busy days leave me breathless, lol.

I dunno why, but since I retired, I've been busier than ever before.
