And all that in a single day! Woot!

But seriously, Mum decided that she wanted to go with me to ALDI, which is a nice stretch of walk if someone is of her age. Rather exhausting for me because with her I have to walk very slowly, which is really bad for my back and knees. But fragile old ladies need their exercise, too, and the weather was nice, so off we went. We did take the tram back (for all the two stops) because by her speed the frozen goods would have thawed up and we didn't want that, obviously.

Wen we came home she unpacked the stuff we bought while I made another turn to LIDL, where I always buy mineral water and other heavy stuff, as it is on the next corner. I found that they've completely redecorated since last week - the effect is great, but now one has to re-learn how to find all the things in the brand new places. It took so long that Mum was halfway done with the sour cherry soup by the time I got home.

We decided to eat the soup and some of the cheesy buns we bought at ALDI because we didn't want to start cooking at half past two. After lunch I dismantled and pre-cooked the huge cauliflower I bought at LIDL and peeled and grated a big chunk of fresh ginger to freeze it for future ginger soup. *g*

Oh, and in the morning - before all this- I've finished another three pencil holders. (Whenever I make tomato soup, it means at least two new pencil holders afterwards.) These have a Christmas-y flair and I hope they'll be a burner on the charity fair in December. Unless the virus will still be around, of course.

Behold the pencil holders! (Pun completely intended...)

The pencil holders are very cute! And, sour cherry soup sounds amazing.

It is a very yummy soup indeed - and easily made. Just cook the cherries in water until they are soft, add some sweetener and thicken the soup with an egg yolk stirred smooth with some sour cream. That's it. We even leave the stones in and have great fun spitting them into a cup while eating. *g*
