Today, after two turns of hunting, I went to school to order next month's eggs. Sadly, none of my girls were there (unsurprisingly); the only ones I met were Boss Woman, one of the school secretaries and the porter. At least the porter showed me a video of his one-year-old granddaughter, who is a darling. I used to teach her Daddy for six years; it's such an odd realization that he's a family man by now. He'll always remain Little Johnny to me, the smallest, most fragile kid in the whole class, with an unruly mop of dishwater-blond hair. I'm definitely getting old. *g*

Then I had the joy of talking to [livejournal.com profile] ooxc on the phone. I haven't heard of her for a very long time and was beginning to worry. All the happier I was when she actually answered the phone and we had a brief but heart-warming chat. Hearing someone's voice is something else than an e-mail!

I also talked to Baby Emma's grandmother (my cousin's ex-wife) today. I like her very much, it's always a delight to chat with her. They're going to Lake Balaton for the weekend, with my goddaughter, her husband and both kids. Since they've got their own house with big garden there, and taking the car, it's safe for them to do so, although I'm sure it will be an adventurous undertaking.

Crafting-wise I've made another page for Baby Book #2. I also wrote a bit on Chapter 5 of my Blood Ties/Charmed/Kindred: the Embraced crossover story. The chapter is almost finished; I think I'll start posting the thing to AO3, soon, one chapter a week, since I intend to end the entire story with Chapter 7. Of course, I've planned such things repeatedly in the past and the story turned out a double-digit-chapter monstrosity. Fingers crossed that it won't, not this time.

Since we had leftover soup and crepes layered with spinach from yesterday, we didn't have to cook. Mum used the golden opportunity to clean the living room while I was away and couldn't yell at her for over-extending herself. We still haven't come to an agreement about the idea of the flat being there for us and not the other way round. I'm beginning to doubt that we'll get there within my lifetime. *g*

It is good to hear what happends in your life. My life is pretty calm at the moment while I am looking for a job to tide me over during the summer hollidays. It looks as if some things are returning more to normal while it will take more time for other things to do that.

I like to think that it's the kids who're getting older. Our generation has claimed the fountain of eternal youth - the changes are only on the outside, hahaha!

Well, yeah, I'm not that sure about returning to normal while the dratted virus still isn't contained. I must be very careful, not only because of myself but also because of Mum.

Good luck with the job hunt, I hope you find something that you might like doing!

I think it will take a long time for things to return entirely to normal but every part of my life that I can get back is something I enjoy.

By the looks of it finding a job might be hard but if I don“t try I will not succeed. So it is best to try the hardest I can.

Socializing is such a good thing after so much aloneness.

That it is. Even if Boss Woman wouldn't have been my first choice.

The thought that you were one to shape the lives of countless young persons, how rewarding. And, how dear they all must be.

How lovely to get to see people, and a video of the baby. When I worked some of my patients were children - and the first time one of them came to see me as a parent was very odd.

I started teaching at the age of 19. When the eight-term-kids (who were 14 or 15 at that time) greeted me as they would greet any other adult, I felt as if I'd slipped into some alternate reality. ;)

Not all of them. But most of them, yes.
