New week, new stress
May. 11th, 2020 08:24 pmOokay, the week started much like the previous one had ended: with the remote control to my TV dying on me. At first I thought it was the batteries, so I changed them - to no end. It randomly obeys, one time out of then, but that's all. Now I have to get up and push some buttons every time I want to switch channels or change the volume. It's a good thing that my quarter-century-old analog telly still has buttons, or I'd be lost. But it's still annoying. I don't know where to find a new remote. Will have to call the service guy, assuming he's still alive (he's older than I) and still working. Bleh.
Also, the insurance lady was here for a quick signing of the contract. She didn't want to come in, because of Mum (which was considerate of her), so we spent half an hour or so in the staircase while she communicated with the company, photographed important documents and the other inhabitants passing by looked at us as if we were complete morons. But the contract is fixed now, or so I hope. *fingers crossed*
The only somewhat pleasant event of the day was the fact that I actually made my very own face mask - free hand, with only a needle and a pair of scissors at my aid. It's extremely uneven, as I messed up the measures (I do that regularly), but I think it looks funny. Plus, it has double lining for better protection.
Here, see and laugh:

The horrid fabric has been lying around for years; it was part of a sale package I bought because of the other samples and I refused to use it for anything. I sincerely hope that the coronavirus will flee in terror when encountering it. *g*
